FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ'S)
How is EXSTA different from other sports drinks?
Sports drinks have been known to contain high levels of sugar along with sodium and potassium being the only added ingredients. EXSTA only has 6 grams of sugar/carbohydrates, which allows the body to focus on utilizing the other ingredients that are being consumed instead of storing the extra calories from sugar. EXSTA has a premium blend of vitamins, minerals (electrolytes), antioxidants, and amino acids which all work together to help your body stay balanced and perform at an optimum level before, during, or after exercise.
What is Coenzyme Q10 and why is it used?
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is found in every cell of the body and aids in cellular energy production known as ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate). CoQ10 can become depleted with age and during intense activity so supplementation can help to restore energy at the cellular level. CoQ10 is also a powerful antioxidant (along with Vitamin C), which helps to fight against harmful free radicals.
How does EXSTA provide energy?
Due to the energy drink craze, when we see the word "energy" on a beverage we automatically assume it has a lot of calories, excessive amounts of caffeine, and probably a lot of processed sugar. Caffeine can be useful for certain applications, but when it comes to intense physical activity it is best for your body to run on natural energy. EXSTA contains a premium blend of natural ingredients that help to replenish the body's energy. Coenzyme Q10 plays an important role in providing energy in the body at a cellular level. The C and B vitamins in EXSTA help to metabolize the calories in food, which in turn provides your body with energy. Carbohydrates are a great source of energy when exercising so EXSTA uses organic evaporated cane juice to fuel the body with the least processed form of sugar.
Is EXSTA natural?
EXSTA is 49% organic and 74% natural.
What flavor is EXSTA?
EXSTA is a great mango-citrus flavor. Some studies have shown that people who drink flavored beverages during exercise tend to drink more of it, which helps them to meet their fluid needs.
What amino acids are in EXSTA?
EXSTA's proprietary blend of L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, L-Valine, L-Glutamine, and L-Arginine all work together to help repair muscle tissue that may be broken down from exercise and also assists the muscles in recovery from fatigue.
What kind of sugar is used in EXSTA and why?
The last thing you need in a sports drink is high amounts of sugar. Artificial sweeteners are another bad option so EXSTA contains only 6 grams of Organic evaporated cane juice (OECJ) which acts as the primary carbohydrate in EXSTA. Carbohydrates are depleted with exercise so it is important to replenish your body with a good source of carbs to prevent blood glucose levels from dropping too low. OECJ is not overly processed which allows it to retain more of the sugar canes natural nutrients and can also be absorbed in the body at a more consistent pace which rewards your body with sustained energy; no peak and no sudden crash. Stevia has also been added which is a natural herb found in Paraguay. Stevia is around 300 times sweeter than sugar so a small amount of this non-caloric sweetener goes a long way.
What electrolytes does EXSTA have?
Sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium work synergistically in the body to maintain water balance and energy levels. When you sweat, the body looses all of these minerals so it is important to replenish more than just sodium.
How are the ingredients in EXSTA absorbed in the body?
Since the ingredients in EXSTA are dissolved in water, it allows the body to benefit from the nutrients quickly. EXSTA is consumed through the mouth, to the stomach, then to the small intestine where the nutrients are absorbed, sent through the bloodstream and carbohydrates are converted into energy. The lower the carbohydrate level, the quicker the stomach empties, which is another benefit to EXSTA's low sugar content. Minerals also help the stomach to empty quickly. All of these factors contribute to a healthy, balanced body when you need it the most.
